I welcome you to Introduction to Digital Design and Microprocessors. This is a 3-credit course in the first semester. It is compulsory for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, and related degrees. This course gives you the relevant knowledge about computers in terms of the principles of programmable logic devices, digital system design, the implementation of combinational and sequential circuits, as well as data or number representation and conversion.
This course aims to teach you number representation to design digital circuits. It also describes the logic gates as well as sequential circuits. At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to design circuits from a combination of gates.
